11/20/19 State v. Zahmere McKoy, Guilty Verdict after Jury Trial

Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae announces:

On November 19, 2019,  Zahmere McKoy, 20,  of Bridgeton, was found guilty of Third degree Burglary and Theft.  The verdict came after a one day jury trial before the Honorable William Ziegler, J.S.C.

The charges were based on events that occurred on July 4, 2018, when the defendant unlawfully entered a home on Fayette Street in Bridgeton, in order to commit a theft inside the home.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 6, 2020.  Defendant McKoy faces up to 5 years New Jersey State Prison.  Assistant Prosecutor Elizabeth Vogelsong prosecuted the case on behalf of the State.  Terry Stomel, Esq. represented Defendant McKoy.
